When people build their own homes, they usually hire professionals to design it, build it, decorate it and such, which makes a lot of sense considering the investment that must be made. But what happens if you just plan to build a single room or to remodel an existing one?If you know, then creating a room or a floor plan is a piece of cake. But for most people (myself included) this is not the case. Not everything is lost though.
The description of Floor Plan Creator. Create detailed and precise floor plans. Add furniture to design interior of your home. Have your floor plan with you while shopping to check if there is enough room for a new furniture.
In fact, if you know how to use a web browser, there’s a good chance that you will be able to create your own room or floor plan, thanks to some very clever and useful online tools to do so.Here’s a list of the best of these websites. Home StylerOf the three sites that we’ll check out today, is perhaps the most intuitive and accessible. You can start using their floor planning tool right away without any registration. Once you start using it, you’ll have access to a main grid where you can drag and drop elements from the leftmost panel. And once on the grid, you can tweak sizes, length and even customize other details like wall thickness, floor color and such. One of the main strengths of Home Styler is definitely the extensive array of elements that you can choose from, allowing you to fully customize your floor plan to get a better idea of how it will look when finished.Additionally, the site provides plenty of tools to get better control of your work, including a 3D viewer and even a.
RoomSketcherWhile perhaps not as thorough in its options as our previous website, is also a very capable online floor planning tool. What it does have going for it is its more elegant design and a more streamlined interface for designing floor plans. On the other hand, RoomSketcher offers more variety in the ‘accessories’ department, which makes it ideal for those who want to focus on that area. Its 3D viewer is also far more powerful, allowing you to see more detail from virtually any angle.3. Planning WizOf the three sites mentioned here, is in my opinion the most fully-featured of the bunch. However, it is also the one that has the steepest learning curve. As you can see from the pictures below, there’s no lack of options on Planning Wiz’s interface, and the level of customization of each of the elements goes above what other online floor planning sites provide. On the downside, Planning Wiz is the only website in this group that requires you to sign up before you use it.
But it is definitely worth it if you need the otherwise free features that it provides which, as you can see below, are extremely varied. And there you have them. If you are thinking about designing your own room or to create a basic draft of a floor of your new home, make sure to give these sites a try. They are way easier to use than any piece of dedicated software and you’ll most likely enjoy the almost instant results you’ll get.Last updated on 8 Feb, 2018.
Everyone is familiar with MS Excel, right? MS Excel being a spreadsheet program is used to store and retrieve numerical data in a grid format of columns and rows.
Excel is ideal for entering, calculating and analyzing company data such as sales figures, sales taxes or commissions. Yet did you know that it can be used for creating floor plans? Yes, you heared that right! This 'ible demonstrate the use of Microsoft excel as a tool in designing any type of floor plan (i.e. House, industrial, plant). So hover on the rest of the steps and learn how I did it. Once we open the spreadsheet, we have to set-up the cells to create grid coordinate so that scaling is easy.I set the column width to 1 and the row height to 9 units. This can be done by following the steps below:. Select entire cells by pressing Ctrl+A.
Right click column letters then select Column Width. Change value to 1 then click ' Ok'. Next while entire cells are still selected, right click row numbers then select Row Height. Change value to 9 then click ' Ok'. Now the grid 'working area' is now ready for layout. I colored the layout on some parts. This makes it look more realistic (I guess).
Don't forget the labels for each area. Some decorations can be added to improve the look of the design. In my design I added a sofa, a TV, bed, table lamps etc. That's it for my demonstration of using MS Excel Spreadsheet as floor plan layout tool. One restriction i can see using this tool is that it's limited to horizontal and vertical wall designs. To overcome this, shapes can be used as alternative arranged diagonally.Hope you enjoyed it!Thanks for your attention.
